When your proportioner throws an error, it rarely happens at a convenient time. The good news is that most issues follow patterns, and you can often narrow down the cause quickly with a consistent approach.

Verify drum levels and confirm your feed pumps and supply lines operate as expected. If the A or B side starves, the proportioner may detect an imbalance and throw an error to protect the system. Cold material can also cause a slow warm-up, limit flow, and result in unstable performance once spraying begins.

Inspect Filters, Flow Paths, and Pressure Stability

Restrictions create problems that look like major failures, but they often start with a simple blockage. Check filters, screens, and strainers on both sides for buildup. If pressure spikes, drops, or oscillates, suspect a restriction, a supply issue, or a component that needs cleaning.

Pay attention to whether the error appears consistently on one side. If the A side holds steady and the B side faults, that pattern helps you isolate the problem.
